The payment came in the wake of the Thierry Henry handball which prevented Ireland from reaching the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

The Clare FAI delegate says he knew about the five million euro from FIFA to the FAI but doesn't know where he recieved the information.

It comes amid calls for an investigation into the payment – given in the wake of the Thierry Henry handball which prevented Ireland from reaching the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

FIFA says the money was a ‘loan’ – which would have been paid back if Ireland qualified for the 2014 tournament in Brazil.

Jim Madden says legal cases have no place in sport and that he doesn't believe that Ireland had a case.

Roy Keane has laughed off questions about the FAI's 5 million euro payout from FIFA.

The story has made headlines around the world.

Former FAI Chief Fran Rooney is calling for an investigation. He says it's time for the Association to be 'transparent'.
