It may have been a dull month, but Clare fared better than most other parts of Ireland in terms of our weather in May.

Throughout the country, May was wetter and colder then would typically be expected, and the Banner County was no exception.
Temperatures here were over 1 degree less than average, and rainfall amounts here were 72 per cent more than is usually the case.
However, 90% of average sunshine amounts were recorded by Met Eireann in its base at Shannon Airport, more than anywhere else.
