Clare Hammer Rossies In Oscar Traynor Trophy

Clare have won their final group game in the Oscar Traynor Trophy, and kept their hopes of reaching the competition’s knockout stages alive.

Clare are returning from Roscommon with three points after a 5-0 win in atrocious conditions.

Colin Smyth and Eoin Hayes scored in the first half to put the Banner two-up at half time, while David Reidy, David McCarthy and Packie D’Arcy all netted for Liam Muphy’s men in the second half.  The only blemish on the result was the dismissal of Eoin O’Brien for a second yellow card.

The result means Clare now sit in second spot in the group, which would be good enough to reach the knockout stages provided Limerick beat Galway at Jackman Park in the sides’ final group game tonight.

The match kicks off at 7:00.
