The Swiss ace beat Andy Murray in four sets to make it 17 Grand Slam titles. He’s return to the top of the world rankings will be confirmed today, and will see him match Pete Sampras’ record of holding the top spot for a total of 286 weeks.
The Centre Court crowd cheered Murray on throughout the match, which marked the first time a home player had reached the men’s final at the All England Club since 1938. Afterwards, the Scot said they played a big role in his run.
