A strong second-half performance saw Kerry dash Clare hopes in last night’s Munster Junior Football Final.
In the opening half it was Clare who were on top, and when a goal from Killian Malone was added to one from Noel Downes, the Banner led by five points.
Kery reduced the gap to two at the break, 2-05 to 1-07 but the game turned in a three-minute period in the second half.
First, Clare’s Darren Hickey was sent off and then, within three minutes, 2 David O’Donoghue goals had put the Kingdom firmly in control.
They ran out winners in a final scoreline of Kerry 3-17 Clare 3-07, with David Ryan scoring a late goal for the home side in Miltown Malbay
