Derval O’Rourke and Michael Conlon will be the two Irish Olympians in action this evening at London 2012.
After a disappointing morning session on the track, O’Rourke will be looking to book her place in the final of the 100m hurdles.
The Cork hurdler runs in the second semi-final with the action getting underway after half-seven.
While Conlon will be aiming for the Irish boxing team’s third Olympic medal of these games when he steps into the ring for his Flyweight quarter-final.
The 20-year-old from Belfast will face France’s Nordine Oubaali at around nine o’clock tonight in the ExCel Arena.
Earlier, Paul Hession finished in fifth place in his 200 metre heat in a time of 20.69 seconds, which wasn’t enough to reach the next round.
There was also disappointment for Fionnula Britton, who failed to reach the final of the 5000 metres – despite recording a new Personal Best.
Gavin Noble finished in an impressive 23rd place in the Men’s Triathlon.
