Corofin was the venue for a unique Wolrd Championships in an unusal sport this weekend.

Large crowds turned out for the 12th annual World Stone Throwing Championships in Campbells Yard in Corofin yesterday, where men and women aimed stones at upturned bottles, in a bid to smash their way through to the finals.
Local woman Denise O’Malley won the Ladies event, while Donegal Native Marc Browne became the men’s champion.
