The Ireland management team are refusing to rule Rory Best out of saturdays World Cup quarter final with Wales.

Best suffered a shoulder injury in the win over Italy yesterday and is now a major doubt for the last 8 clash in Wellington.

The Ulster hooker has received treatment for the injury and the Irish medical team will assess the problem again tomorrow.

The Ireland squad arrived at their base in Wellington today.

Sean Cronin will come in for Best if he fails to recover in time

Former Ireland captain Keith Wood says it would be a big step up for Cronin:

Meanwhile South Africa’s Craig Joubert will take charge of Saturday’s game.

Joubert was the man in the middle for Ireland’s wins over the USA and Russia earlier in the tournament.
