Round two of football championship set to get underway tomorrow

Round two of the county senior football championship gets underway tomorrow with several sides looking to avoid the prospect of a relegation battle.

Three second round games  will see losers from earlier this month clash with the defeated side  then fighting to retain their senior status in a relegation semi final situation.

Last year’s county finalists St Joseph’s Doorabarefield take on St Senan’s in Kilmihil at noon and Barefield manager Mark Rafferty feels his need a big improvenmt from their opening day loss to Cooraclare :

In the winners round two Shannon Gaels take on Cooraclare  be the first sides to seal their place in the last eight.

Cooraclare manager Dave Loughman expects both sides tomorrow to be much sharper than their opening day performances:

Throw in in Doonbeg is at 5pm.

Before that  in the intermediate championship  O curry’s take on Kildysert in Doonbeg at 3-30 and Eire og hosts the meeting of Kilmurray Ibrickane  and Meelick at 6-30.

There are also three games each in the Junior A and B championship.
