Elsewhere in the Europa League, Celtic lost 2-0 to Atletico Madrid.
Chris Hughton’s Birmingham City were beaten 3-1 at home to last season’s runners up Braga.
Fulham drew 1-1 at home to FC Twente and Stoke also drew 1-1 with Dynamo Kiev.
