Shamrock Rovers celebrate second Airtricity Premier league title in a row
Shamrock Rovers manager Michael O’Neill says the club must build on the success they’ve enjoyed this season at home and in Europe.
The Hoops became the first Irish side to reach the group phase of the Europa league and last night captured the Airtricity league title for the second season running with a 2-1 win over UCD at the UCD bowl.
Sub Dean Kelly with an injury time goal to secure the win, Rovers will receive the trophy after their final game of the domestic season at the Tallaght stadium next Friday against Galway.
O’Neill says they’ll keep working to improve the club on and off the pitch.
Rovers will be joined in the top flight by Shelbourne next season who guaranteed promotion with a 4-0 thrashing of Finn Harps at Tolka Park
