Swede, Christian Nilsson has set the new score to beat on the opening day of the Irish Open in Killarney.
A run of four consecutive birdies on his back nine helped Nilsson to a five-under par round of 66 this afternoon, which has left him one shot clear of the rest of the field.
Ireland’s Colm Moriarty and defending champion Ross Fisher are among the players tied for second place on four-under par after rounds of 67 earlier.
Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell both struggled today – finishing on one-under and one-over par respectively.
On course at the moment, Padraig Harrington and Darren Clarke are both on one under par.
