Trap hopes speculation regarding senior players is just that

 

Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapatonni hopes that the senior players won’t retire after next Summers Euro 2012 Championships in Poland and Ukraine.

Traps side host Estonia in the second leg of the play-off at the Aviva tomorrow night holding a 4-0 lead from the first leg but throughout this qualification process stories have circulated that Shay Given , Damien Duff, Robbie Keane and Richard Dunne are all playing in their last campaign however the manager says it’s important they stay on and help the young players coming through.

It’s also being widely reported that Trap and his management team will enter contract negotiations to keep him in charge for another 2 years.

Ahead of Tuesdays second leg against Estonia Assistant manager Marco Tardelli says they must put in a good performance.
