Two Clare players through to All Ireland finals

In handball and two Clare handballers are  through to All-Ireland 40×20 Chapionship finals.

In the Junior Singles, Cathal Hannon of  Tulla beat  Pat O’Donnell of  Wicklow 21-19, 21-14  and  in the Golden Masters B Singles played in Shannon   local John Cawley beat  Eamon Purcell of  Kilkenny 21-8, 21-14

There was no luck however for Diarmaid Nash and Niall Malone who lost their All-Ireland Senior Doubles Championship, rd. 2 match in Offaly on friday night.

Next up for Nash is the All-Ireland Senior Singles semi-final against Westmeath’s Robbie McCarthy in Roscommon on Saturday next.

Underway today are the Munster 40×20 juvenile semi-finals and a number of Clare boys are in action today (in both Tulla and Clooney from 12.00 midday.

The girls action on Friday saw mixed results for the Clare palyers who took on Kerry opposition with wins for Bridin Dinan in the girls U12 singles while the Clare girls who took on Tipperray in Clarecastle saw victories for Aoife Floyd/Niamh O Brien in the girls U12 doubles, Evelyn Duggan/Laura Philpott in the girls U13 doubles,  and at U14 and and U16 doubles also.
